  1. Hi Brooklyn, one of your questions was that you would like to know about what happens when the spinal cord is broken. Do you remember learning about neurons and axons? The axons of neurons are the long treads that they use to connect to each other and to muscles. The spinal cord is full of axons that connect neurons in the brain to the neurons in the spine that control our muscles. If the spinal cord is damaged, it means those neurons can't talk to each other, so the neurons that control muscles don't receive any instructions from the brain. That is why people with spinal cord damage sometimes are not able to walk and must use wheelchairs.
